“We have selected a project manager for our agency computerization and are in the process of contracting currently,” Correll said.
With an unsuccessful first round of interviews, the Steering Committee, which involves WLSB member Liz Philp, Correll, Lee Romsa, ETS staff and staff from the State Archives, conducted a second successful round.
“This person will be shared between our agency and the State Archives, and we will work together to share the cost,” Correll explained. “Sharing this person will allow more of our money to go toward a computerization solution.”
The project manager will start no later than the week of Oct. 29 and will be spending between three and five days with the WLSB to understand agency needs. The project manager will also coordinate with the ETS department to understand technical requirements and State Archives to work on their computerization requests.
“They will start to delve into our needs and our current processes,” explained Correll. “We have started trying to set up a schedule to allow this person to see the inspection activities, and we will do the same with each of the units to look at the processes and needs of the agency so they can be met.”
The draft request for proposal (RFP), which will ask vendors to submit proposals for equipment needs of the agency. While the RFP is still in its draft form, Correll anticipates it will be finalized shortly.
“For the RFP, there is a period of time for review of proposals, questions in writing, as well as time to respond,” she continued. “We are also leaving the option open to have oral presentations if we have further questions before making the final selections.”
A timeline has also been established for when the project implementation phase will begin.
