National Western Stock Show brings top cattle to Denver, Colo.
Denver, Colo. – From Jan. 6-21, competitors from across the country brought their highest quality cattle, sheep, horses, swine and more to the National Western Stock Yards, hoping to out-rank their competitors in a series of livestock shows, during the National Western Stock Show (NWSS).
This year, nearly 705,600 visitors walked through the gates during the 16-day run of NWSS, making it the second-highest attended show in the event’s 112-year history.
“We appreciate every person, young and old, from near and far, that came out to make memories with us,” said Paul Andrews, NWSS president and CEO. “To host over 700,000 guests in 16 days is tremendous not to mention historic.”
Wyoming producers competing during the event brought home a number of top prizes, and notable top-five showing for the event are listed below. These results reflect winners from the open cattle and sheep shows who placed in the top five of their events, according to results available at nationalwestern.com on Jan. 23, 2018.
