Saler bulls make impressive showing at 2020 Midland Bull Test

Eleven Saler bulls from three consigners made an impressive showing in the 2020 Midland Bull Test. These bulls, lots 853 through 857 and 901 through 904, will sell on April 2. 

The Saler bulls were split into two groups – Group 2 Bulls and Group 1 Fall Bulls. The Group 2 Bulls had an average daily gain (ADG) of 3.10 and an average weight per day of gain (WDA) of 3.08. The Group1 Fall Bulls had an average ADG of 3.61 and an average WDA of 2.58.

Group 1 Fall Bulls ADG

            Tower Hills Ranch of Shilder, Okla. consigned the top three Saler bulls in the ADG category.

            Lot 901 came in first with an ADG of 3.91. This bull is the son of SAV Real Rito 5250 and had a WDA of 2.58. His EPDs are BW +0.5, WW +51, M +17, YW +54, RFI -0.02, Eff 105 and MBT 111.

            Next was lot 902 with an ADG of 3.45 and a WDA of 2.59. He was sired by THR Registry 4355 and has EPDs of BW -1.6, WW +46, M +17, YW +76, RFI -0.24, Eff 102 and MBT 119. 

            The third-high ADG Saler bull was lot 903 with an ADG of 3.11. He was sired by THR All There 604 and had a WDA of 2.48. This bull has EPDs of BW +1.3, WW +53, M +20, YW +102, RFI 0.99, Eff 93 and MBT 103. 

Group 1 Fall Bulls WDA

            The three WDA Saler leaders were also from the Tower Hills Ranch of Shilder, Okla. 

            In first was lot 902 with the highest WDA of 2.59. Lot 902 was sired by THR Registry 4355 and had an ADG of 3.45. His EPDs are BW -1.6, WW +46, M +17, YW +76, RFI -0.24, Eff 102 and MBT 119.  

            Lot 901 came in second with a WDA of 2.58. He had an ADG of 3.91 and EPDs of BW +0.5, WW +51, M +17, YW +54, RFI -0.02, Eff 105 and MBT 111. He is the son of SAV Real Rito 5250.

            Rounding out the Saler WDA leaders was lot 904. This bull had a WDA of 2.51 and an ADG of 2.82. He was sired by THR All There 604 and has EPDs of BW +2.2, WW +60, M +17, YW +103, RFI -1.43, Eff 109 and MBT 107.  

Group 1 Fall Bulls Eff

            Again, Tower Hills Ranch of Shilder, Okla. brought the top three Saler Eff leaders.

            Lot 904 pulled in first position with an Eff of 109. This bull had a WDA of 2.51 and an ADG of 2.82. He was sired by THR All There 604 and has EPDs of BW +2.2, WW +60, M +17, YW +103, RFI -1.43 and MBT 107.   

            Next was lot 901 with an Eff of 105. This bull is the son of SAV Real Rito 5250 and had a WDA of 2.58 as well as an ADG of 3.91. His EPDs are BW +0.5, WW +51, M +17, YW +54, RFI -0.02 and MBT 111.

            Lot 902 posted the third-highest Eff of 102.  He had an ADG of 3.45 and a WDA of 2.59. He was sired by THR Registry 4355 and has EPDs of BW -1.6, WW +46, M +17, YW +76, RFI -0.24 and MBT 119.

Group 1 Fall Bulls MBT

            Tower Ranch of Shilder, Okla. also consigned the top three MBT Saler fall bulls. 

Lot 902 also had the highest-ranking MBT of the fall Saler bulls. This bull posted an MBT of 119, had an ADG of 3.45 and a WDA of 2.59. He was sired by THR Registry 4355 and has EPDs of BW -1.6, WW +46, M +17, YW +76, RFI -0.24, Eff 102 and Eff 102.

            Lot 901, sired by SAV Real Rito 5250 had the second-highest MBT of 111. This bull had an ADG of 3.91, a WDA of 2.58 and EPDs of BW +0.5, WW +51, M +17, YW +54, RFI -0.02 and Eff 105.

            The third place bull in this category was lot 904 with an MBT of 107. This bull had a WDA of 2.51 and an ADG of 2.82. He was sired by THR All There 604 and has EPDs of BW +2.2, WW +60, M +17, YW +103, RFI -1.43 and Eff 109.   

Group 2 ADG

            Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D. had the Saler bull with the highest ADG in Group 2. Lot 926 posted an ADG of 3.99. He also had a WDA of 3.37 and EPDs of BW +1.2, WW +52, M +18, YW +102 and MBT 118. He is a son of Musgrave Aviator. 

            Elm Creek Ranch also brought the second place bull in this category, lot 928 with an ADG of 3.70. This bull was sired by Eathington Sub-Zero and had a WDA of 3.27 as well as EPDs of BW -0.9, WW +49, M +22, YW +96 and MBT 114. 

            In the third position was lot 906 of Tower Hills Ranch in Shilder, Okla. This bull had an ADG of 3.61 as well as a WDA of 3.07. His EPDs are BW -1.5, WW +49, M +20, YW +87 and MBT 107. He is a son of THR Registry 4355. 

Group 2 WDA

            Lot 918 and lot 936 tied with the highest WDA in this category of 3.42.

            Lot 918 was consigned by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D. and was sired by TSB Hunter 10C. He had an ADG of 3.32 and EPDs of BW +1.2, WW +39, M +22, YW +79 and MBT 107. 

            Lot 936 of Parke Ranch in Drummond, Mont. was sired by SRS Domino 155D and had an ADG of 3.36 as well as EPDS of BW -2.2, WW +50, M +20, YW +88 and MBT 112.

            Lot 938 had the second-highest WDA of 3.39. This bull was also consigned by Parke Ranch in Drummond Mont. He was sired by SRS Entity 4108E and had an ADG of 3.32. His EPDs are BW +2.2, WW +53, M +23, YW +103 and MBT 111.

            Rounding out the Group 2 WDA leaders was lot 922 with a WDA of 3.38. Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron N.D. brought this son of ECR Resource 702 of 116Y. He also had an ADG of 3.57 and EPDs of BW +2.0, WW +64, M +19, YW +135 and MBT 109.

Group 2 MBT

            Lot 926 led the charge in Group 2 MBT leaders with an MBT of 118. This bull also had an ADG of 3.99 and WDA of 3.37. He was consigned by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D., sired by Musgrave Aviator and has EPDs of BW +1.2, WW +52, M +18 and YW +102.

            Elm Creek Ranch also had the second place bull in this category, lot 928. This bull posted an MBT of 114 and also had an ADG of 3.70 and a WDA of 3.27. The son of Eathington Sub-Zero has EPDs of BW -0.9, WW +49, M +22 and YW +96.

            In third was lot 936 with an MBT of 112. Lot 936 of Parke Ranch in Drummond, Mont. was sired by SRS Domino 155D and had an ADG of 3.36 as well as a WDA of 3.42. His EPDS are BW -2.2, WW +50, M +20, YW +88 and MBT 112.
