Butcher Creek Ranch consigns top indexing Hereford bull at Midland

Butcher Creek Ranch of Roscoe, Mont. consigned the only Hereford bull at this year’s Midland Bull Test, which will sell on April 4 in the 2024 Midland Bull Test Final Sort Sale.

Group 2 Hereford Bull ADG, WDA, Eff, MBT Index

Lot 550 was sired by EXR Bankroll 8130 ET and had an average daily gain (ADG) of 2.52, as well as a weight per day of age (WDA) of 2.87. 

This bull also has an Efficiency (Eff) Ratio of 90 and a Midland Bull Test (MBT) Index of 98, as well as EPDs of BW 2.5, WW 60, YW 98, M 27 and RFI 1.96.

Midland Bull Test Awards

Sale bulls in each breed qualify for Midland Bull Test Performance Awards, based on performance, semen evaluation and soundness. Breeds with less than 30 head and all fall bulls qualify for honors as the MBT High Indexing Bull and High Efficiency Bull. 

As of March 11, pending semen results and registration documents, lot 550 was the High Indexing Hereford Bull with an MBT of 98 and the High Efficiency Hereford Bull with an Eff of 90.
