Wyoming bulls make a strong showing at Midland

Casper — Wyoming seedstock producers entering bulls in this year’s Midland Bull Test were highly competitive with seedstock producers from across the region and nation.
Paintrock Angus
    Lots 297, 298 and 299 from Paintrock Angus Ranch are sons of Mytty in Focus. Lot 297, Paintrock IN Focus 41-8, reported a -3.46 RFI, a WDA of 2.83, an ADG of 2.78 and a MBT Ind of 101. Lot 298, Paintrock IN Focus 91-8, has a 3.36 ADG, a 3.42 WDA and a MBT Ind of 106. This bull is the number three placing “green tag” bull for WDA. Lot 299, Paintrock IN Focus 377-8, has a 3.17 ADG, a 3.09 WDA, an RFI of -1.37 and a 104 MBT Ind.
    The Midland Bull Test Index (MBT Ind.) is described in the Midland catalog at “Combined ADG (Average Daily Gain) Ratio, YR (Yearling Ratio), NR (Nursing Ratio) and Efficiency Ratio.”
    Paintrock has five lots consigned to the Red Angus sale at Midland on April 9. Lot 973 is a son of MDM Special Edition 3-6. MDM Special Edition 3-4-8, lot 973, has an ADG of 3.83, a WDA of 3.51 and a MBT Ind of 108. This bull placed fourth in the “yellow tag” division for WDA. Lot 975, MDM Special Edition 3-54-8, is also a son of MDM Special Edition 3-6, and has an ADG of 3.17, a WDA of 2.85 and a MBT Ind of 98. Lot 977, another MDM Special Edition 3-6 son, has an ADG of 3.60, a WDA of 3.21 and a MBT Ind of 104. These sons of MDM Special Edition 3-6 earned second place WDA sire group honors.
    A son of MDM Chateau 324, lot 974, MDM Chateau 32-36-8, has an ADG of 3.15, a WDA of 3.14 and a MBT Ind of 101.
    Lot 976, MDM Javelin 107-8, is a song of LJC Javelin M08. He has an ADG of 3.40, a WDA of 3.44, a MBT Ind of 111 and a -0.99 RFI.
7X Ranches
Seven lots from 7X Ranches of Lingle will be among the Angus bulls that sell on April 10 at Midland. They are lots 214, 215, 217, 219, 221, 222 and 223.
    Lots 214 and 219 are sons of Sitz Traveler 9420. Lot 214 earned a -1.5 RFI and posted an ADG of 3.08 and a WDA of 3.11. This bull has a MBT Ind of 106. Lot 219 tallied an ADG of 3.65, a WDA of 3.27 and a MBT Ind of 104.
    D C C new Design 5K12 is the sire of lots 215, 221 and 222, the third place ADG sire group with a 3.97 average. Lot 215 has an MBT Ind of 111, an ADG of 4.35 and a WDA of 3.44. Lot 221 has a MBT Ind of 105, a WDA of 2.83 and earned an ADG of 3.82. Lot 222 reports a MBT Ind of 108, an ADG of 3.73 and a WDA of 3.13.
    Lots 217 and 223 are sired by D C C Rito Direct 3CR. Lot 223 tallied a -0.47 RFI for feed efficiency. Lot 217 has a MBT Ind of 116, an ADG of 3.92 and a WDA of 3.23.
Six Iron Ranch
    Lots 834 and 835 from Bob Pingetzer’s Six Iron Ranch at Shoshoni are sons of Beckton Lancer N199 TP. Lot 834, Six Lancer LAD U26, has an ADG of 3.07, a WDA of 2.87, an RFI of -0.36 and a MBT Ind of 103. Lot 835, Six Lancer LAD U27, has an ADG of 3.29, a WDA of 3.03, an RFI of -2.8 and a MBT Ind of 106.
    Lot 838, a son of Six Blazen Fire S54, has an ADG of 3.53, a WDA of 3.22, an RFI of -0.84 and a MBT Ind of 105.
Booth’s Cherry Creek
    Lots 155 and 156 from Booth’s Cherry Creek Ranch at Veteran will sell during the Angus portion of the Midland Bull Test Sale on April 10. Lot 155 is a son of Wulffs EXT 6106. He has a MBT Ind of 103, a WDA of 3.24 and an ADG of 3.13. He reported a -1.14 RFI.
    Lot 156 is out of SS Objective T510 OT26. This bull, with a +64 weaning weight EPD is in the top two percent of the breed. With a +122 yearling weight EPD, he’s in the top one percent of the breed. He earned an ADG of 41.9 and a WDA of 3.36.
Clay Creek Angus
    Lot 69 from Jim and Lori French’s Clay Creek Angus at Greybull will sell on Friday, April 10. Clay Creek Onward 21U is a son of H A R B Onward 116 and a CCAR Miss Banner Rain 19N dam. This bull has an ADG of 3.29 and a WDA of 3.04.
Doug Booth Family Angus
    Lot 608, DB Objective 812, from Doug Booth Family Angus at Torrington has an ADG of 2.90 and a WDA of 3.09. He’s sired by Quaker Hill Objective 3J15 and out of a DB Ms Kaline Midland 631 dam. His MBT Ind is 100.
    Lot 609 from the ranch posted a -0.01 RFI and a 2.86 ADG and a 3.12 WDA. This bull is sired by 4G New Frontier 6511 and out of a DB Ms New Dateline 361 dam. His MBT Ind is 98.
    Booth Ranch’s lot 610, DB New Ext 8135, has an RFI of -1.91, a WDA of 3.43 and an ADG of 3.08. His MBT Ind is 105.
Earhart Farms
    Willwood Alliance 8665, lot 354 from Earhart Farms in Powell, is a son of KMK Alliance 6595 187. He is -1.1 in RFI, has a 3.53 WDA and a 3.19 ADG. His MBT Ind is a 105.
Four Lazy Y Angus
    Whitson’s SF Blackcap, from Tom and Donna Whitson at Powell, posted a 3.36 ADG and a WDA of 3.31. His MBT Ind is 99. He sells on April 10 as lot 322.
KJ Angus
    KJ Special Design 800 from Wade Farnam’s KJ Angus at Powell will sell on April 10 as lot 358. This bull posted a -1.76 RFI, an ADG of 3.21 and a WDA of 3.05. He has a MBT Ind of 99.
LTJ Angus
    Lots 32 and 33 are from Tim Latham’s LTJ Angus at Powell. Both bulls are sired by 21AR Outfitter 6032. Lot 32 has an RFI of -1.43, a WDA 2.92 and an ADG of 3.01. He has a MBT Ind of 103. Lot 33 has a 0.67 RFI, a WDA of 2.92 and an ADG of 3.38. His MBT Ind is 105.
Margharite Cattle Co.
    Lots 686, 687, 688 and 689 are consignments from Sandra Wallop’s Margharite Cattle Company at Big Horn. Lots 686 and 687 are sons of Bairds Danny Boy 509. Lot 686, Margharite Danny Boy 345, posts a WDA of 3.03 and an ADG of 3.15 with a MBT Ind of 103. Lot 687, Margharite Danny Boy 346, has an RFI of 0.28, a WDA of 3.20 and an ADG of 3.43. He has a MBT Ind of 109.
    Lots 688 and 689 are sons of Conneally Danny Boy. Lot 688, Margharite Lead on 343, has a MBT Ind of 99, a WDA of 2.84 and an ADG of 2.90. Lot 689 has an ADG of 3.15, a WDA of 2.82 and an impressive -2.81 RFI.
Oedekoven Angus
    Lot 332, OAR Big Horn Objective U01, from Oedekoven Angus at Sheridan, is a son of S S Objective T510 0T26 and out of an O A R Ms Fame Lead On 0601 dam. This bull has a MBT Ind of 98, a WDA of 2.72 and an ADG of 3.67.
    Teichert Brothers, LLC
    Teichert Brothers, LLC of Cokeville consigned lot 841 to the April 9 Red Angus sale at Midland. TBLC Cheyenne 815, lot 841, is a son of LCC Cheyenne B221L. He has an ADG of 3.51, a WDA of 2.91 and a MBT Ind of 104.
RV Ranch
    Lot 337, RVA SS Objective G from Roy Vandevetter’s RV Ranch at Sheridan, is a son of S S Objective T510 0T26. This bull has a MBT Ind 111, an RFI of -0.64, a WDA of 3.16 and an ADG of 3.35.
West Fork Ranch
    The West Fork Ranch of Lovell has four lots in the April 9 Red Angus sale at Midland. Lot 882 is a son of Bieber Make Mimi 7249 that has a 3.29 ADG, a 2.91 WDA, a -2.61 RFI and a MBT Ind of 108.
    Lot 883, a son of Glacier Chateau 744, has a 3.08 ADG, a 2.94 WDA, a -1.16 RFI and a MBT Ind of 101.
    Lot 884 from the ranch is a son of LMN Proof Positive 1305E. He has an ADG 3.00, a WDA of 3.15 and a MBT Ind of 101.
    Lot 885, a son of Lchmn Red Spread 127IF, has an ADG of 3.00, a WDA of 3.27 and a MBT Ind of 102.
WPR – Angus Division
    The Angus Division of Lance Fletcher’s WPR Ranch at Sheridan has three lots – 632, 634 and 635 in the Angus sale at Midland. Lot 632, WPR Brooks Design 801U, is a son of Brooks Premium 302. This bull has a MBT Ind of 101, a WDA of 2.60, an ADG of 3.15 and an RFI of -0.6.
    Lot 634, WPR In Focus 807U, is a son of Mytty In Focus. He has an ADG of 2.90, a WDA of 2.65 and a MBT Ind of 98.
    Lot 635, Craft 112 Rito of 28-808, is a son of Rito 1Is of 2536 Rito 6I6. He has an ADG of 2.82, a WDA of 3.18, an RFI of -4.14 and a MBT Ind of 103.
