Rapid City, S.D. – After 10 days of stock shows, horse shows, rodeos and other western events, the 2020 Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo (BHSS) has wrapped up. The event drew over 300,000 attendees and competitors from across the country.
The show featured its usual breed shows, as well as a new ShowRite youth beef show. Also new for 2020, BHSS moved the horse sale to the events center, added a wild bronc riding event and included a “protect the harvest” presentation for attendees.
The Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo is the second largest event in the state of South Dakota, following the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The event features 120 different livestock, horse and rodeo events along with over 300 vendors to visit.
“Our little Midwestern city becomes a slice of the Old West when cowboys and ranchers come to town to compete in 10 different breeds of cattle shows, ranch rodeos and 14 different horse events,” says BHSS. “There is something for everyone, including concerts and a beer festival.”
